Bodie
Bodie holds a special place in my heart. If you've visited there, you'll understand why. If not, plan a trip!
Bodie State Historic Park is a ghost town located just east of California's Sierra Nevada Mountains northeast of Yosemite and just north of Mono Lake. Designated as a National Historic Site and a State Historic Park in 1962, Bodie is 13 miles off Highway 395 on Bodie Road (Hwy 270). The town is preserved in a state of "arrested decay." Exteriors and interiors of the buildings remain as they were left by their inhabitants. For more information visit the Bodie Foundation's website.
