- Shortly after The Arcanum's official opening in 2014, Janelle was chosen to be an apprentice in Ollie Dale's Cohort in which she is currently a Co-community Manager. The cohort, being a bunch of scallywags already, quickly decided that they should henceforth be known a band of pirates and have dubbed Ollie and crew: Capt'n Redbeard and His Scurvy Dogs.
- Partnering with the Manteca Library and the Manteca Camera Club, Janelle taught a four hour class on the Exposure Triangle in June of 2014 at the Manteca Library. She taught it again for the October and November meeting in 2015.
- On Saturday, June 18th 2011, Janelle appeared on the front page (photo #2 on the website) of the Stockton Record with fellow camera club member, Stan Sogsti. Check out the full article. She was in the Record again on July 27th, 2011, in a brief article about the Stockon Camera Club's "Pulse of the Delta" exhibit at the Goodwin Gallery. Also, in the Record on August 4th, 2011, information about Janelle and Deb's Lodi Show appeared in a section about local area galleries.
- A number of Janelle's 2010 Color the Skies Hot Air Balloon Festival images have been used on the Color the Skies website over the past few years. At least one photo has also been used for marketing purposes. Color the Skies is an annual hot air balloon festival held in Ripon, California which raises money for Children's Hospital Central California. Janelle's festival photos can be seen on the digital display in the waiting rooms in the new wing at Children's Hospital beginning in 2012.
- In the November 16-22, 2011, issue of the Sierra Lodestar, Janelle is mentioned as a local artist in an article about shopping for art gifts during the holiday season in California's Gold Country.

2015 Collision IV Show
An invitational, collaborative works show between poets and photographers, “Collision IV” hosted by David Schroeder, was be held at the Mistlin Gallery in August. The show opened August 18 and ran through September 11. The Downtown Modesto Art Walk was Thursday, August 20th and will featured poetry readings by local poets. Admission to the gallery is free.

2015 Photo Collective Show
The 2015 members' showcase took place at the Carnegie Art Center in Turlock during the months of June through August. An artists' reception was held on June 16th. Janelle did not exhibit in the 2015 PC Show, but the wonderful work her friends created was on display. Admittance was free.

2014 Photo Collective Show
The 2014 members' showcase took place at Rex Kline’s gallery in Turlock during the month of July and August. An artists' reception was held on Saturday, August 2 and a Chamber of Commerce Social was held on August 19th.

2013 Photo Collective Show & August Modesto Art Walk
The Photo Collective is held its Annual Member's Show in August at the Mistlin Gallery, 1015 J Street in Modesto. Images were on display from July 30th through August 29th, 2013. A reception was held during Modesto's Third Thursday Art Walk on August 15th from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Regular gallery hours are Tuesday-Friday 11:30 a.m. to 5 p.m./Saturday 12-4 p.m.

2011 Photo Collective Show & September Modesto Art Walk
Janelle had two photos on display in the Photo Collective's September Show at the McHenry Museum, 1402 I Street in Modesto. Images were on display from September through mid-December. Normal museum hours are Tuesday through Sunday 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. A reception was held during the Modesto Art Walk on September 15th.
2013 Manteca, Tracy & Stockton Camera Clubs'
9th Annual Photography Contest and Show
Janelle showed and assisting with the Manteca Camera Club's Photography Contest & Show which ran from Friday, May 31, 2013 5:00 PM to Sunday, June 2, 2013, 5:00 PM at the Manteca Senior Center, 295 Cherry Lane, Manteca, CA. Janelle won Best of Show in the Open Division that year.

If you have never entered a photography contest, this is the one to enter! The contest will have two divisions: Amateur & Open. Amateurs can enter either Division. Janelle has entered a number of images in the photography exhibit at the San Joaquin County Fair since 2010. She has won numerous prizes each of the last several years, including many 1st place awards and won Best of Show in the Professional Division in 2013
Each day of the fair, the Stockton Camera Club runs a booth in Building 2 answering questions about photography and club membership. They put on a Carnival Lights Workshop (Friday 9/28, at 7 .pm.) and other free, hands-on workshops. Janelle helps at the booth and leads some workshops or assists with others.
The San Joaquin County Fair in Stockton is one of Northern California's premier county fairs. It features 5 days of fun for everyone with big-name concerts, live horse racing, a carnival, ag & livestock, food and local exhibits…. and best of all… admission is FREE for everyone!
Parking is usually $5. Come out to the fair, view the exhibit, learn from a workshop and help support the arts. 1658 S. Airport Way, Stockton.

Goodwin Gallery "Pulse of the Delta" Show
J. DeRuosi Photography had two pictures displayed at the Elsie May Goodwin Gallery as part of the Stockton Camera Club's "Pulse of the Delta" show. The show was on display for the month of June, 2011.

Delicato Tasting Room's Annual Photography Show
Three of Janelle's images were on display at the Delicato Family Vineyards Tasting Room for their 15th annual photography show from June 25th to July 23rd, 2011. A reception and awards presentation was held on Saturday, July 23rd. One image took 2nd place and another was awarded an honorable mention. The honorable mention was the only black and white photo to be given an award. Janelle also had a number of images in the 2013 and 2014 Delicato shows and won 2nd place again in 2014.
Delicato Vineyards is located just south of the Highway 99 and French Camp Road intersection in Manteca, CA. The Tasting Room is open for viewing daily from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Lodi Art Hop
August 2011
J. DeRuosi Photography joined Deb Shaw for the First Friday Lodi Art Hop.
The Art Hop is a free monthly citywide art walk sponsored by the Lodi Arts Commission. These shows are free and the entire family is welcome to attend.
Janelle and Deb were at the Thomas Theatre Gallery at Hutchins Square, 125 S. Hutchins St., Lodi, CA from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on August 5th, 2011. Their photos were also on display in the gallery throughout August.

J. DeRuosi Photography participated in the Modesto Art Walk along with Deb Shaw.
The Art Walk features art galleries, as well as businesses and organizations that display art for the evening, coming together to showcase the best of the arts in downtown Modesto. This no-cost casual event features a diverse range of artwork. At the Art Walk you will have the opportunity to meet local artists, view and purchase artwork, as well as experience the diversity of the local art galleries and shops.
Janelle & Deb were at the Stanislaus County Library, Modesto Branch from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. on August 18th, 2011 for the Art Walk. Some of their photos continued to be on display in the west corner of the library through the middle of September.

Lodi Grape Festival
Janelle has had a number of entries in the Lodi Grape Festival's photography exhibit beginning in 2011 and has received a number of awards over the years. The Festival is held in September and is located at 413 E. Lockford Street, Lodi, CA.
The Festival promotes the agriculture and agricultural products of San Joaquin County and offers diverse forms of agricultural education. The Festival strives to present unique, family–oriented exhibits that not only entertain, but educate and enlighten. In addition, the Festival provides an opportunity for many other non-profit groups to raise funds for community and charitable projects.

Scott Kelby's Annual Worldwide Photo walk
Scott Kelby's Worldwide Photo Walk is a social photography event where photographers get together in any public area to walk around, shoot photos, and generally have fun with other photographers. Janelle has been attending since 2010 and lead a walk in 2012 and 2014. More information can also be found on the Walk's website.
Misty Redwood Glen Gallery Grand Opening
On Saturday, November 12, 2011, Misty Redwood Glen Gallery held a grand opening from 1 p.m. utill closing. Guests enjoyed wine and hors d'oeuvres while viewing the work of local artists.

Stockton Summer ArtSplash
The Summer ArtSplash is a downtown Stockton arts event held on the second Friday of the month from 5 to 7 pm starting June 8 through August 10, 2012.
On July 13, 2012, the San Joaquin County Law Library (Kress building at 20 N. Sutter St.) hosted a reception for the opening of a new photography show, "A Photographer’s Perspective" as part of downtown Stockton’s second Summer ArtSplash. The show featured works by members of The Stockton Camera Club and remained on exhibit in the Law Library through the month of July. The Law Library is open to the public from 8 to 5, Monday through Thursday and from 8 to 4:30 on Friday. The featured photographers were: Janelle DeRuosi, Carol Marshall, Charlene Martin, Em McLaren, Sharon McLemore, Marty Pacheco, Elizabeth J. Parrish, Trey Steinhart, and Heide Stover.
